I”m still looking around a bit for texts but in the meantime I can’t stop myself from writing so I’m writing to those Rumi quotes. Going in this time I ended up in a different modality. It’s not octatonic but it isn’t major or minor. It might look like D Major but it isn’t – that is just a chord that this modality seems to rest on. We’re basically shifting between D and Eb pedals. I found I can get to an F convincingly and a C more or less, but I am a bit tethered to the pitch of D. I’ll see what happens but I know if I am in one pitch too much, and it isa home pitch, it’s impossible to have a satisfying ending because you never went anywhere.
This “heavy d” opening looks like it will work for the first two lines:
Now is the time to unite the soul and the world.
Now is the time to see the sunlight dancing as one with the shadows.
After this I go into my next section where the key word is fire. I have no idea what to do when we get to this. But I feel pretty confidently that the solution will present itself when it is time.
